Granny Square Crochet Tutorial
Hello everyone, in today’s tutorial we make this square with a daisy in the center with this tutorial we add a new pattern to our granny square collection small squares to combine to make bigger jobs if you haven’t seen the other tutorials about granny squares find the link to the playlist in the upper right corner and in the info box this square is very simple to do let’s start by weaving 2 rounds of round shape to make the flower and with the next round.
we make it become square here I have woven 2 rounds of classic granny square, weaving triplets of dc but if you want you can make a bigger square, weaving all the rounds you need of classic granny square in this tutorial we see how to weave this daisy square and in the 2nd part of the tutorial.
I show you to combine the squares in a different way than usual there are many ways to sew squares in the second part of this tutorial we see this method, which for me is wonderful we will weave these beautiful interlaces that leave holes between the squares so this method is perfect for making fabrics in which we want a soft result the squares can be woven with any type of yarn cotton, wool, acrylic, etc.
in this tutorial I use this yarn Drops Love You 8 and a 4mm crochet hook we make a slip knot ch4 we close in a circle with 1slst in the 1st ch round 1: ch2 (replace 1dc) 11dc in the circle and hide the yarn tail between the stitches.
we have woven 12dc counting also the first 2 chain we close the round by weaving 1slst in the 1st dc so in the 2nd chain ch1 and we cut the yarn in this way the yarn is fixed let’s make a slip knot with white yarn we extract the crochet hook.
we take the work in round 2 we weave by inserting the crochet hook between 1dc and the next one in the hole between a dc and the next insert the crochet hook between 2 dc and we extract the loop round 2: ch3 now we weave 1 popcorn stitch.
so in the same space we weave 3dtc and in the meantime we hide the tail of yarn we enlarge the loop and we extract the crochet we insert the crochet hook in the 1st of 3dtc we hook the loop and make it come out of the stitch this is the popcorn stitch ch2 and repeat 1popcorn stitch in the space between the next 2dc ch2 this is the sequence we repeat 12 times in total to complete the round 1popcorn stitch made by 3dtc, ch2 after weaving the 12 sequences.
we have 12 petals in the round we close the round with 1slst in the 1st popcorn stitch so we have 12 petals separated by 2 chains ch1 and we cut the yarn all the yarn tails are already hidden between the stitches pulling the initial yarn tail we close the circle the work is round for now with the next round we make it square.
so we make a slip knot with green yarn we extract the crochet hook and we insert it in one of the arches and let’s get the loop out let’s start round 3 by weaving 1 corner round 3: 3ch (replace 1dc), 1dc, ch1, 3dc and in the meantime we hide the tail of yarn 3dc in each of the next 2 arches in next arc.
we weave 1corner rep in each corner we weave: (3dc, ch1, 3dc) now we weave the side 3dc in each of the next 2 arches we repeat this sequence 2 more times: 1 corner rep (=3dc ch1 3dc), (3dc)x2 in this way we complete the round. Click here to know about the serger
when all the sequences are woven we complete the round by weaving the missing stitch at the 1st corner every corner is made of: (3dc ch1 3dc) in the first corner the 1st dc is missing so 1dc and close with 1slst in the 1st dc of the round so in the 3rd chain 2slst to reach the arc at the center of the corner round 4: 3ch (replace 1dc), 1dc, ch1, 3dc now we weave the side 3dc in each space between the triplets of dc (3dc)x3 1corner rep: (3dc ch1 3dc) now we weave the side (3dc)x3 we repeat this sequence 2 more times: 1 corner rep (=3dc ch1 3dc), (3dc)x3 so we complete the round now.
we weave the missing dc at the first corner rep 1dc and close with 1slst in the 1st dc of the round so in the 3rd chain ch1 and cut the yarn the daisy square is ready now you can weave all the squares you need with these squares.
you can do a lot of things you can do it like this or you can weave more rounds to make a bigger square in the second part of the tutorial we see how to sew the squares I hope this tutorial is useful to you and that you enjoyed it thank you very much for watching it if you liked the video don’t forget to give me your like it’s really very important to me if you like, write me below the video.
